Overnight Oats: A Simple and Delicious Make-Ahead Breakfast

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats

  • 1/2 cup milk of your choice (dairy milk, almond milk, soy milk, etc.)

  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt

  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional)

  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

  • Pinch of salt

  • Toppings of your choice (such as fruit, nuts, seeds, or granola)

Directions:

  1. In a mason jar or bowl, combine the oats, milk, Greek yogurt, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir well to combine.

  2. Cover the jar or bowl with a lid or plastic wrap, and place it in the refrigerator overnight (or for at least 4 hours).

  3. In the morning, remove the jar or bowl from the refrigerator and give the mixture a good stir. If it seems too thick, you can add a splash of milk to thin it out.

  4. Top with your desired toppings, such as fresh fruit, nuts, seeds, or granola.

  5. Enjoy your delicious and nutritious make-ahead breakfast!

Overnight oats are a fantastic option for busy mornings when you don't have time to make breakfast from scratch. They're also a great way to meal prep for the week ahead, as you can make several jars or bowls at once and keep them in the fridge for easy grab-and-go breakfasts. Plus, they're endlessly customizable, so you can experiment with different flavors and toppings to keep things interesting. Give this recipe a try and discover just how tasty and convenient overnight oats can be!
