Directions:


   For the hummus:


  1. In a food processor or blender, combine the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, and garlic. Pulse until the mixture is coarse.

  2. With the food processor or blender running, slowly add the olive oil and blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Transfer the hummus to a serving dish and sprinkle with paprika and parsley for garnish.


   For the pita bread:


  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.

  2. In a separate bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water. Add the olive oil to the yeast mixture and stir well.

  3. Pour the yeast mixture into the flour mixture and mix until a dough forms.

  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let it rise for 1 hour.

  6. Preheat the oven to 500°F.

  7. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball.

  8. Roll each ball into a circle about 1/4 inch thick.

  9. Place the circles on a baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes until they puff up and turn golden brown.

  10. Serve the warm pita bread with the hummus and enjoy!
